Bio: Hi, I'm Krista and I'm the local editor of Chelmsford Patch. I live in Dracut and graduated from UMass Lowell in 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in English. I have become very involved in the arts and local sports scene in the Merrimack Valley. I love ice skating at the Chelmsford Forum in my free time and play ice hockey in the fall and winter. I have loved my five years of living here and can't wait to see what the future has in store.

I just celebrated my one year anniversary working with Patch on June 21, 2011. It's been a busy year but definitely a fulfilling one. Before coming to Patch I worked at the Milford Daily News for about two years. I love journalism and can't wait to usher it in to the 21st century with Patch!

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, watching hockey (go Lowell River Hawks!), and playing with my cats, Leo and Lucy. I'm also a huge Hanson fan and follow them around the country with my friends.

Beliefs
At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable. This disclosure is not a license for you to inject your beliefs into stories or to dictate coverage according to them. In fact, the intent is the opposite: we hope that the knowledge that your beliefs are on the record will cause you to be ever mindful to write, report and edit in a fair, balanced way. And if you ever see evidence that we failed in this mission, please let us know.

Politics
I lean left of center.

Religion

I don't consider myself religious.

Local Hot-Button Issues

Many people in town care about the rate at which Chelmsford is developing and how that development should occur. Recent issues include 9 North Road, a new billboard behind Chelmsford High School that can be seen on Route 3 and a new cell phone tower. And of course, like many towns, Chelmsford is grappling with the tough economic times and doing more with less at Town Hall.

Hi,

I am working on a feature film that is helping a great cause as well as offering people the opportunity to get involved
with the film. I think this would be a great story to write about and tell people. I just wanted to pass this along. …Or If it’s not too much trouble, pledge on something (they are offering great things!) and if you can also please pass this along to your friends.

If I can help you out with anything or the production can help you with anything, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Here is the link for the film:
