Three Arrested for Illegal Purchase, Sale of Abalone

Three women were arrested Friday after allegedly buying abalone being illegally sold from a Cotati massage parlor, state fish and game officials said Saturday.
Nuanrat Musser, a 44-year-old Cotati resident, was first seen buying the sport-caught abalone from the massage parlor in August 2011, according to the California Department of Fish and Game.
Game wardens maintaining surveillance on the business saw Musser make several more purchases, and then resell the abalone in September to Sacramento residents Helen Macarolia, 55, and Kritkaew McCulley, 65.
All three women were arrested Friday and booked into Sonoma County Jail. All three will face poaching-related misdemeanor charges. There is no commercial abalone harvest in California's coastal waters, and it is illegal to buy or sell abalone harvested with a sport fishing license.

I think the jails should have bigger criminals in them than some old women enjoying their abalone.
